famous bard Oisín, son of legendary hero Fionn mac Cumhaill, on the Bank of the Lora, invoking the Gods to the strains of his harp. Legend tells how Oisín fell in love with an enchanting woman named Niamh. Niamh being a member of the supernatural Sidhe race took Oisín to Tír na nÓg, a parrallel otherworld where no one grew old. Thinking only weeks had past and missing his father Oisín returned to Ireland to find his father and friends three hundred years dead. Although Niamh warned him not to dismount the horse he returned on, he did so to help some feeble men move a rock and was instantly turned to dust.
